This is the blog for a sailing trip that plans to start in the Caribbean and end about a year later in Australia. The launching of the blog has been a bit delayed - partly because me and Johan (the self-proclaimed tech geeks of the crew) chose to roll our own blog using the Ghost blog engine and host it ourselves. This stuff always take more time than you think. Also partly because we been away on our epic sailing adventure for seven weeks now and we’re still stuck on land! Turns out our plan to “just go down there and buy a boat” was harder than we thought. The next post will be about that.
Who are we? Head over to The Crew page for more info.
Our goal with the blog is to document or trip with text and also lots of pictures and video. We have all kinds of cameras, action cameras and even a waterproof drone on board that we have high hopes for. The mail goal of the trip is the sailing itself and to see some places of the earth that you won’t get to without a boat. Along the way we hope to catch some great fish, find some surf (and hopefully learn how to surf) and cook lots of fresh fish and local produce. We hope to have family and friends and maybe others to come sail with us for some parts of the trip even though we realise many times it will be hard to get to us.
How will it all end? Hopefully by all of us four making it to Australia with the boat in good shape, allowing for a quick and easy sell. Then back to real life. We will see about all this, a lot can change in a year. Stay tuned!
