Quick update from Panama – We are now in the Pacific Ocean!

2016-04-21 - 2016-05-04

We transited the Panama Canal and have been in Panama City on the pacific side since this Saturday. The transit went smooth and we got great help from two German backpackers, Lukas and Lu, who came along as line handlers. When we arrived in Panama City we went straight down town for some partying, the last time in a while we will see this many people around… Final preparations to the boat are done and we are now ready to go offshore!

The whole Panama Canal gang

We are leaving the American continent behind us and are heading for the Galapagos islands tonight. We expect this leg to last about 7 days depending on the wind conditions. Right now we see southerly winds during the next couple of days which means a lot of motoring through the head wind. Lukas dad, Olek, has joined us for the trip to the Galapagos. He brought with him some well needed delicacies like fois gras, champagne, cigars, nice red wine (bottled) and cheeses. We are going to enjoy this leg!

We also got some fresh fruits and vegetables before heading to Galapagos
...and two new surf boards!

We will do a proper blog post about our Panamanian adventures and the canal transit as soon as we can in the Galapagos.

Now the real adventure begins!

See you soon
